Roland Gerber (born May 21, 1984 ) is a former Swiss ice hockey player who was last under contract with the SCL Tigers in the National League .
Career
Roland Gerber began his career as a hockey player in the youth of the SCL Tigers , for whose professional team he made his debut in the National League A in the 2001/02 season . During his time in Langnau, for which he was active until 2004, he was also on the ice in the 2002/03 season in a game for the second division club EHC Visp . From 2004 to 2007 the attacker ran for the GCK Lions from the National League B, and in the 2006/07 season he also played in seven games in which he remained pointless and goalless for their cooperation partner, the ZSC Lions from the NLA .
In the 2007/08 season Gerber played for the EHC Biel , with whom he became second division champion and with which he achieved promotion to the NLA. He also started the following season in Biel, but left the club after only five first division games and joined SC Langenthal from the National League B.
During the 2009/10 season , in December 2009, Gerber moved to SC Bern . In exchange, Alex Chatelain went to SC Langenthal. At the end of his first season in Bern he won with the Mutzen the Swiss championship .
In the summer of 2011, his contract with the SCB expired and Gerber was initially without a club. He later took part in the training camp of Genève-Servette HC , which signed him in September 2011.
In December 2015, Gerber signed a three-year contract with the SCL Tigers, which will apply from the 2016/17 season.
From August 2018 he played in parallel with the EHC Olten in the Swiss League with a B license . He ended his career after the 2018/19 season.
International
For Switzerland , Gerber took part in the 2002 U18 Junior World Championships and the 2003 and 2004 U20 Junior World Championships .
