Alexander Curdin Chatelain (born February 22, 1978 in Chur ) is a Swiss ice hockey official and former player. He was head of sport at SC Bern until 2020 .

career

Chatelain made his debut in the National League A for HC Davos in the 1996/97 season . From 1999 to 2004 and from 2007 to 2009, the striker played for SC Bern  and became Swiss champions with the capital city in 2004. During his time at the EHC Basel  , he rose from the National League B  to the NLA in 2005 . In 2009, the native of Berne moved to SC Langenthal , where he worked in the NLB until his retirement in 2012. He was also the junior manager at SCL.

In 2014 Chatelain, who had completed a degree in business administration in Bern in 2009 , returned to SC Bern, took over the sporting management of the youth department and became the assistant to Sven Leuenberger , the then sporting director of the NLA team. In November 2015, Chatelain replaced Leuenberger and became SCB sports director. Chatelain remained in office until the end of the 2019/20 season. During his time as head of sports, Bern became Swiss champions three times. After leaving, he stayed at SCB as head of sport and took on the task of developing sporting strategies.
