Inti Pestoni (born August 8, 1991 in Faido ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who plays on the position of the right winger. He has been in the squad of SC Bern from the National League since 2019 .
Career
Pestoni, who was born in Faido in Ticino , grew up not far from the Pista la Valascia , the ice rink for HC Ambrì-Piotta , and went through the club's youth department. He made the jump into Ambrì's NLA squad and was voted best young player in the National League A after the 2010/11 season . In Ambrì he developed into the pillar of the team and the identification figure of the supporters, and he also made the leap into the men's national team .
In 2013 and 2014 he won the Spengler Cup with the Genève-Servette HC , after Pestoni had been specially signed for the duration of the traditional tournament.
On November 26, 2015, the ZSC Lions announced that they had reached an agreement with Pestoni on a three-year contract that came into effect at the start of the 2016/17 season. However, his first season with the city of Zurich did not go as planned. He was removed from the team after only 11 games and had to complete separate training. He was only allowed to play in the championship again at the beginning of November and only had twelve scorer points by the end of the season.
In May 2018, Pestoni was allowed by the ZSC Lions to seek a new employer. A few days later he received a one-year contract with HC Davos .
In January 2019, Pestoni signed a two-year contract with SC Bern , valid until the end of the 2020/21 season.
International
In November 2011 Pestoni was appointed to the senior national team for the first time and promptly scored a goal in his first international match at the Deutschland Cup.
