Ramon Untersander (born January 21, 1991 in Wetzikon ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has played in the Swiss National League in the position of defender at SC Bern since 2015 .
Career
Untersander began his career at the age of four at SC Rheintal. After going through all the youth teams there, he moved to HC Thurgau at the age of 14 , where he first attended the National Elite Sports School. After only one season he joined HC Davos . There he played for the junior teams and completed an apprenticeship at the same time. During the 2007/08 season he was Swiss junior champion with the junior team.
In the summer of 2009 he signed a two-year contract for the professional team of the HCD in the National League A , after which he played his first games in the highest Swiss ice hockey league . On September 17, 2011, Untersander scored his first National League A goal.
In January 2012, Untersander was loaned to EHC Biel for five games . In the 2012/13 season he moved definitely to Biel. Untersander injured his hand in November 2012 and had to take a two-month break.
In November 2014 he signed a three-year contract with SC Bern , which was valid from the 2015/16 season.
International
Untersander was part of the Swiss U20 national ice hockey team , with which he finished fourth at the 2010 U20 Junior World Championship in Regina, Canada . In seven tournament games, the defender remained pointless and received two penalty minutes.
In 2017 Untersander took part in the World Cup with the Swiss national ice hockey team. Just like the following year at the 2018 Winter Olympics and the 2018 World Cup when he won the silver medal.
