Romain Brégerie (born August 9, 1986 in Talence ) is a French football player . He is under contract with FC Ingolstadt 04 and is preferably used in the position of central defender .

Career

Brégerie learned to play football at Langon-Castets FC . In the summer of 2002 he moved to the youth department of the first division club Girondins Bordeaux , where he signed his first professional contract in 2006. In order to collect match practice, Brégerie was loaned to third division club FC Sète for one year for the 2006/07 season, for which he scored two goals in 24 league games. After his return, he played only three games in the UEFA Cup competition for Girondins Bordeaux's first team and was otherwise only used in the reserve team.

For the 2008/09 season , Brégerie moved to the first division relegated FC Metz , where he received a three-year contract. After 37 second division appearances (without scoring) in a year and a half, he was loaned out to league competitor LB Châteauroux in January 2010 , for whom he scored a goal in 17 second division games. After the expiry of the loan period, the new coach of FC Metz, appointed him Dominique Bijotat , the beginning of the season 2010/11 the team captain . Although from then on Brégerie matured into a service provider, he decided not to extend his contract, which expired in summer 2011.

Instead, he went abroad and signed a two-year contract with the second division promoted Dynamo Dresden . In the course of the 2011/12 season , Brégerie played a total of 31 league games (one hit) and quickly became the leading player in the Elbe cities.

For the 2014/15 season he moved from relegated Dresden to the second division club SV Darmstadt 98 , for whom he contributed to promotion to the Bundesliga with 33 second division games and six goals.

For the next 2015/16 season , Brégerie moved from Darmstadt to fellow promoted FC Ingolstadt . After he was promoted to the Bundesliga for the first time with the team , he made his debut on August 15, 2015 (1st matchday) in a 1-0 win in the away game against 1. FSV Mainz 05  - with a substitution for Lukas Hinterseer in the 86th minute - in this division. On matchday 31, Brégerie saw the first red card in FC Ingolstadt's Bundesliga history in a 2-2 draw against Hannover 96 . He scored his first Bundesliga goal in the 2-0 away win against Eintracht Frankfurt on matchday 21 of the 2016/17 season.

On January 3, 2018, SV Darmstadt 98 announced that it would borrow Brégerie until the summer.

On August 27, 2018, Brégerie switched to 1. FC Magdeburg for one season, also on loan .
