The Rondell is a pass in the Hessian Odenwald . Important traffic arteries run here that connect the core area of the Odenwaldkreis with the Rhine-Main area .
Geographical location
The Rondell is a conveniently located 290 meter high mountain saddle in the northern Buntsandstein-Odenwald, southeast of Groß-Umstadt and northwest of Höchst in the Odenwald . Here lies the lowest point of the watershed between the Gersprenz in the northwest and the Mümling in the southeast. The border between the Darmstadt-Dieburg district ( Frau-Nauses district ) and the Odenwaldkreis ( Hetschbach district ) follows the ridge line of this watershed on both sides of the Rondell for a few kilometers. The Gasthaus Rondell was built on the Groß-Umstadter side of the district boundary .
