Ronny Beblik (born May 12, 1986 in Karl-Marx-Stadt ) is a former German boxer .

Career

Ronny Beblik attended the sports secondary school in Chemnitz from 2001 to 2004 and began boxing at the age of 14. He became a member of BC Chemnitz 94 and was trained there by Olaf Leib. He also became a member of the Bundeswehr sports promotion group in Bruchsal , where he was trained by Roland Kubath. In 2016 he held the rank of sergeant major.

He was German light flyweight champion in 2004 and 2005, and German flyweight champion in 2006, 2008, 2009, 2011 and 2015. In 2007, 2010, 2013 and 2014 he was runner-up and third in 2016 For BC Chemnitz he boxed in the 1st Bundesliga, as well as in 2011 for the Memphis Force and Leipzig Leopards teams , in 2014 for the Germany team and in 2016 for the British Lionhearts in the World Series of Boxing .

He also won several international tournaments, including the 2007 Tammer Tournament and the 2007, 2009 and 2013 Chemistry Cup . He defeated Andrew Selby , Walid Cherif, Pürewdordschiin Serdamba , Alexander Riscan , Michail Alojan , Rafikjon Sultonov , Suranjoy Singh and , among others Samir Brahimi.

At the EU championships in 2006 he was defeated in the semifinals against Łukasz Maszczyk and won bronze, while at the European championships in 2006 he failed in the first fight against Moomin Veli. At the 2007 World Championships in Chicago , he was eliminated in the second preliminary round against Jitender Kumar.

He achieved his greatest success at the 2009 World Championships in Milan , when he reached the semifinals with victories against Bato-Munko Wankejew, Alexander Alexandrow and Khalid Yafai and was eliminated from McWilliams Arroyo with a bronze medal. At the 2010 European Cup in Ukraine , he won silver after losing to Nordine Oubaali in the final , and he also won bronze at the 2010 European Championships in Moscow , when he was defeated in the semifinals against Khalid Yafai this time.

At the 2011 World Championships , he was eliminated by Solomon N'tuve , but won the gold medal at the European Military Championships in Estonia in 2012 . At the European Championships in 2013 he was able to defeat Charlie Edwards , among others , but lost in the fight for a place in the medal ranks against Andrew Selby .

In September 2017, he announced his retirement from boxing and, according to his own statement, had fought around 200 fights by then. In 2018/19 he returned to the ring and boxed for the team of BC Chemnitz in the 2nd Bundesliga.
