Roorback is the ninth studio album by the Brazilian thrash metal band Sepultura . It was released in May 2003 on the Roadrunner Records label .
Origin and style
Like its predecessor Nation, Roorback was recorded in São Paulo with producer Steve Evetts . Stylistically, the mixture of groove and alternative metal is retained. With Bullet the Blue Sky , a U2 cover piece was recorded for the cover EP Revolusongs, which was released at the beginning of 2003, and was added to some editions of Roorback as a bonus track. However, it is not included on the German Digipak edition. For this purpose, the German Digipak was given the complete Revolusongs- EP, which contained the song and the accompanying music video, which won the MTV award for “Best Direction of Photography” in Brazil . On April 18, 2003, the band started a co-headlining tour with Voivod in the USA .
reception
Allmusic's Alex Henderson gave Roorback four out of five stars . He particularly highlighted Derrick Green's vocals as “passionate and focused”.
