Rosina Schneeberger (born January 16, 1994 ) is an Austrian ski racer . She has been a member of the A-squad of the Austrian Ski Association since 2017 and mainly competes in the super-G , giant slalom and slalom disciplines . At the Junior World Championships she was able to win three bronze medals.

biography

Rosina Schneeberger comes from Hippach in the Zillertal and starts for her home club. She skied for the first time at the age of three. She graduated from the Neustift main ski school and then the Stams ski school .

Youth and European Cup

At the age of 16, Schneeberger made her European Cup debut on January 12, 2011 in the downhill from Zauchensee . In the same season she took part in the European Youth Olympic Festival in Liberec . At the Junior World Championships in Québec , Canada , she won the bronze medal in the Super-G in 2013. In the following European Cup season, she scored points in all disciplines and reached fourth place overall. At the Junior World Championships in Jasná she won the bronze medal in both the giant slalom and the Super-G and was among the top 10 in all five competitions. She achieved another success in 2014 at the Austrian Championships when she won the title in the Super-G G won, leaving Anna Fenninger and Elisabeth Görgl behind.

World cup

Schneeberger made her World Cup debut on October 25, 2014 in the giant slalom in Sölden . Only three weeks later, she tore a cruciate ligament and meniscus in Levi's slalom , which ended the season prematurely for her. She won her first World Cup points on February 27, 2016 with 28th place in the Super-G in Soldeu . The next day she was able to achieve a new top result with 16th place in the combination . In Jasná she won points in the giant slalom for the first time in 24th place. At the end of the season she won her second national title in the combination in Pitztal . In December 2016, she finished ninth in the combination of Val-d'Isère for the first time among the top ten.

In February 2017, Schneeberger took part in the World Championship in St. Moritz , where she was the 18th downhill runner in combination. eliminated in slalom. At the end of the season she won her third national championship title in the Super-G. On August 31, 2017, she tore a cruciate ligament in her right knee during giant slalom training in Argentina and has to forego the Olympic season.
