The ship of the Swedish entrepreneur Mikael Krafft is currently the second longest sailing ship in the world (after the SY A ), with a capacity for 227 passengers. The hull, built in Gdansk in 1990 , was planned for a sail-assisted cruise ship of the Polish Miners' Association called Gwarek , which was to be equipped with mechanically adjustable wing sails of 600 m² ( Dyna-Rigg ) on three masts. In 1999 the hull was converted into a tall ship according to plans by the Polish sailing ship designer Zygmunt Choreń . For this purpose, the vessel was fitted with a classical clipper with 11 m bowsprit and a negatively sloped to the transom provided scheduled 24 m sweeping sailors stern. A built-in hatch (rear gate) serves as an artificial bank for swimming in the sea. The Royal Clipper was completed at the Dutch shipyard Merwede Shipyard BV . The ship is equipped with modern navigation systems and, as a special feature of the sails, has sails that can be retracted into the hollow rows by motor and that can be set and recovered from the deck. There is space for passengers in 114 cabins of various categories. The ship is equipped with:
