Ruben Bertrand Boumtje-Boumtje (born May 20, 1978 in Edéa ) is a former Cameroonian basketball player .

The 2.13 m tall center player Boumtje-Boumtje played in the United States for Georgetown University before he was signed in the 2001 NBA Draft by the Portland Trail Blazers . After three seasons with the Blazers , in which he has played a total of 44 NBA games, Boumtje-Boumtje was transferred to the Cleveland Cavaliers on January 21, 2004 together with Jeff McInnis against Darius Miles . Without ever having played a game for the Cavs , he was released a short time later. Then Boumtje-Boumtje came under the Fayetteville Patriots in the NBA Development League .

After a brief stint at Orlando Magic during the Reebok Vegas Summer League , he moved to the Greek club Panellinios Athens in the summer of 2005 . For the 2006/07 season he was signed by the reigning German runner-up Alba Berlin . After only one year, Boumtje-Boumtje left the Albatrosses and switched to EWE Baskets Oldenburg , with whom he won the championship and the Champions Cup in 2009 . On July 16, 2010 it was announced that his contract with the Baskets would not be renewed. Then Boumtje-Boumtje signed a one-year contract with Artland Dragons . In September 2011, the promoted FC Bayern Munich signed him . On November 2, 2011, Boumtje-Boumtje announced that he would end his active career due to a heart disease.

After his playing career, he worked as a player judge for the NBA team Philadelphia 76ers .
