Rudi Hurzlmeier
Rudi Hurzlmeier (* 1952 in Mallersdorf , Lower Bavaria ) is a German cartoonist , painter and author .
Life
After breaking off his school career and doing various activities, Hurzlmeier drew comic strips . He has made numerous contributions to magazines such as Titanic , Eulenspiegel , Bunte , Kowalski , Pardon , Nebelspalter , Penthouse , PM Magazin , Gong , HÖRZU and FAZ . As an illustrator, Hurzlmeier worked with Wiglaf Droste , Hans Zippert , Fritz Eckenga and Harry Rowohlt , among others . He has published over 30 books and catalogs.
Since the 1990s he increasingly appeared as a painter, for which he sometimes used the pseudonym RuDiHu . The subjects of his watercolors, line drawings, ink sketches and comic strips range between friendly humor and the pleasure of shock.
In 2012 he was a board member of the Friends of the Komische Pinakothek eV
Hurzlmeier has two sons and lives in Munich .
