Rudolf Harnisch

Wilhelm Rudolf Harnisch (born March 8, 1864 in Chemnitz , † after 1933 ) was a German lawyer and politician ( SPD ). He was Saxony's Minister of Justice from 1919 to 1921 .

Life

Rudolf Harnisch was born on March 8, 1864, the son of the lawyer Karl Wilhelm Harnisch. After completing his legal studies, he passed the first state examination in Leipzig in 1888 . He entered the preparatory service , passed the second state examination in 1892 and then worked as an assessor . On November 30, 1893, he resigned from the Saxon judicial service and established himself as a lawyer with a notary in Chemnitz . After the revolution in 1918 he was appointed police chief in Chemnitz.

On January 22, 1919, he became the People's Representative for the Judiciary in Saxony. He participated in the drafting of the preliminary constitution for the Free State of Saxony. After the election of the Saxon People's Chamber , he became Saxon Minister of Justice. On August 1, 1921, Harnisch was replaced by Erich Zeigner . He went to Zwickau , where he had been appointed regional court director, but lived with his son Walter Harnisch in Dresden . After the National Socialist seizure of power , his trace is lost.
