Karl Emil Mannsfeld

Karl Emil Mannsfeld , also Carl (born November 16, 1865 in Annaberg , † February 14, 1945 in Dresden ) was a German lawyer , administrative officer and politician .

Life

Karl Emil Mannsfeld began studying law, which he completed in 1889 with the first state examination and in 1894 with the second state examination. Furthermore doctorate he became a doctor of law . He entered the Saxon judicial service, became a district judge in 1897 and received a position as district judge in 1900. After he had been promoted to higher regional judge in 1906 , he moved in 1910 as a lecturer in the Saxon Ministry of Justice. There he was appointed Ministerial Director in 1920 . In 1918 he was a member of the Federal Council .

Mannsfeld was Saxony's deputy representative to the Reichsrat from 1919 to 1922 . He became President of the Dresden Higher Regional Court in 1922 and was appointed to the Higher Regional Court Council in 1924. During the Reich execution against Saxony in October 1923, Mannsfeld served briefly as acting minister of justice. From June 25, 1929 to March 10, 1933, he was Minister of Justice in the governments of the Free State of Saxony led by Prime Ministers Wilhelm Bünger and Walther Schieck . During his tenure as minister, he was also Saxony's representative to the Reichsrat .

He lost his belongings in the bombing raid on Dresden on February 13th. The following day he went with his wife to look for his children and was killed by bomb fragments in the daytime attack on the street and his wife was seriously injured. He is buried with other bomb victims in the Heidefriedhof in Dresden.
