Robert Schneider (politician, 1807)
Robert Schneider (born October 27, 1807 in Schleiz , † 1871 in Pontresina ) was a German lawyer and politician. He was President of the Court of Appeal in Dresden and Minister of Justice of the Kingdom of Saxony .
Live and act
The son of the princely escort commissioner Johann Wilhelm Schneider (1769–1835) grew up in Schleiz and Schwerin. He then studied at the University of Leipzig . On March 31, 1829 he received his doctorate as Dr. phil. and on February 20, 1834 the Dr. jur. In the same year he accepted a position as a private lecturer and was appointed associate professor and assessor at the Leipzig Faculty of Law in 1838. He was co-editor of the “ Critical Yearbooks for German Law ” founded by Ämilius Ludwig Richter . In 1843 he followed the call to Dresden as a councilor of appeal, where he was appointed vice-president in 1857 and president of the court of appeal in 1859 . In this office he built a close relationship with the Saxon king. From 1866 until his sudden death in 1871 he was Saxon Minister of Justice.
