Rudolf Schwarz (born December 3, 1985 in Garmisch-Partenkirchen ) is a former German natural track luge . He started in a single seater and took part in world cup races from 2001 to 2005 and in world and European championships from 2003 to 2005 .

Career

Rudolf Schwarz drove his first World Cup race on January 7, 2001 in Unterammergau , where he came in 26th. A week later he retired in his second World Cup race in Lüsen . Further World Cup starts did not follow until the end of the 2001/2002 season : In Hüttau he again achieved 26th place and in Železniki he achieved 35th place. From 2001, Schwarz also took part in international junior championships. After finishing 26th at the 2001 European Junior Championships in Tiers and 22nd at the 2002 Junior World Championships in Gsies , he finished 17th in the top 20 for the first time at the 2003 Junior European Championships in Kreuth . Two weeks later, he also reached his first top in the World Cup -20 result when he finished 19th in the finale of the 2002/2003 season in Olang . A week before that, he had taken part in an international championship in the general class for the first time, the 2003 World Championship in Železniki, where he came 22nd out of 48 tobogganers.

After Schwarz had started in three of the six World Cup races last year, he took part in four World Cup races in the 2003/2004 season . After a 21st and two 25th places in the first three races of the season, he achieved his best World Cup result with 16th place at the finals in Aurach . In the overall World Cup he finished 22nd. At the 2004 European Championships in Hüttau and the Junior World Championships in Kindberg , he achieved positions 35 and 24 in the lower midfield. In the 2004/2005 season , Schwarz took part in all six World Cup races for the first time and mostly achieved placings between 20th and 30th place. His best result was 18th place on January 14th in Oberperfuss . In the overall World Cup, he was able to improve by one place to 21st place compared to the previous year. At the 2005 World Championships in Latsch , he finished 31st out of 47 tobogganists and at the European Junior Championships in Kandalakscha , he was 16th out of 27 tobogganists.

The 2004/2005 season was Schwarz 'last as an active natural track luge. Because of an ankle injury, he was out for the whole of the next winter and after that he did not take part in any competitions.
