Ruszów (German Rauscha ) is a district of the urban and rural municipality Węgliniec (Kohlfurt) in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship in Poland . The place belongs to the Euroregion Neisse and is located in the Polish part of Upper Lusatia .
history
Ruszów, formerly Rauscha, came as part of Upper Lusatia as part of the Peace of Prague in 1635 from the Kingdom of Bohemia to the Electorate of Saxony . As a result of the Congress of Vienna , it was in the part of Upper Lusatia that had to be ceded to Prussia in 1815. Until 1945, the municipality of Rauscha was in the district of Görlitz ( administrative district Liegnitz ) in the province of Silesia or Lower Silesia . During the Second World War , a satellite camp of the Groß-Rosen concentration camp was located here . After the invasion of the Red Army in 1945, the German residents were expelled , the place was settled with Poles and renamed Ruszów. It was only later incorporated into Węgliniec .
