The Ruta 3, General José Gervasio Artigas is a street in Uruguay . It is named after the Uruguayan general and politician José Gervasio Artigas (1764-1850).
The road, which is around 600 kilometers long, starts at kilometer 67 of Ruta 1 in the San José department and leads from there to the north of the country. It initially runs through the city of San José de Mayo . Then it crosses the Flores department and here its capital Trinidad . After crossing the Río Negro, you continue through the department of the same name as well as the department of Paysandú and its capital of the same name . It finally ends in the town of Bella Unión in the Artigas department , having previously crossed Salto and the department of the same name .
