The Ruta 10 Juan Díaz de Solís is a national road in Uruguay . In 1983 it was named after the Spanish navigator and explorer Juan Díaz de Solís .
It leads through the departments Canelones , Maldonado and Rocha along the coast and connects the seaside resorts there. In the department Canelones there is only a short section that runs from the Ruta Interbalnearia east of the bridge over the Arroyo Pando to Marindia and is about seven kilometers long. From Solís it then leads past Bella Vista , Las Flores , Playa Verde and Playa Hermosa to Piriápolis , where the Ruta 37 joins. With an intermittent break and the quality of the road fluctuating strongly, the road then passes Punta del Este and La Barra again in good condition and now runs along the coast to Aguas Dulces .
At the Laguna Garzón at the border of the departments of Maldonado and Rocha, the road crosses the water of the Laguna on a circular bridge. The bridge with a radius of 51.5 m was designed by the architect Rafael Viñoly . It was opened to traffic on December 22, 2015.
