Ruth Hofmann (born May 23, 1986 in Augsburg ) is a German TV and event presenter and singer .

Ruth Hofmann comes from Augsburg . After finishing school, she studied sports science with a focus on media and communication at the Technical University in Munich . In her diploma thesis, she dealt with live interviews with sports reporters on TV . During her studies she already gained experience in moderation, such as B. at the training radio station M94.5 or during her year abroad in French-speaking Switzerland, where she also presented bilingual.

In 2010 she made it into the last three at a moderator casting organized by Sky, after which she joined the pay-TV broadcaster as a volunteer. From 2012 to 2016 Hofmann worked at Sky as a presenter and field reporter for the Bundesliga , the 2nd Bundesliga , Formula 1 and tennis , with a focus on Wimbledon . From January 2014 to summer 2016, she also hosted Sky Sport News HD before joining Sport1 in August 2016. There she moderates the one-two with Thomas Helmer, Sport1 News and Bundesliga Pur Lunchtime. She also moderated the UEFA Europa League, Hattrick - the 2nd Bundesliga, the Premier League Highlights and was a reporter at indoor and legend tournaments, as well as the Darts Supercup.

In addition to her moderation career, she is a pop singer and writes her own songs. In January 2017 she released her debut single Curiosity . More singles and live performances followed. With her song "Highlight" she wrote the official song of the German World Games Team 2017 and the title song for live broadcast on Sport1. In 2020 she released her first single in German with "Goldene Zeit". She also sang the German national anthem several times, such as at the DEL Finale 2018 or the Prize of Europe 2019. She organizes her music privately.

Sports

In 2002 and 2003 she became German gymnastics group champion with the Augsburg gymnastics club in the disciplines of gymnastics, dancing, relay races and swimming. She also took part in a half marathon three times and is passionate about salsa. In 2015 she started in the TV Total high diving by Stefan Raab on ProSieben in the dubbing competition with her colleague Marlen Neuenschwander.

Personal

In addition to German, Hofmann speaks English, French and Italian. In May 2019 she belonged to the charity organization Zeit des Lachens eV, which makes everyday clinical life easier for children, alongside patrons Rick Goldmann and Konrad Abeltshauser .
