The class VIII 1 of the Saxon State Railways was an express locomotive with the wheel arrangement 2'B. The vehicles were used on the route between Dresden and Chemnitz .
history
They were modeled on machines from Württemberg . They were equipped with an American bogie and a tall stand-up tank box instead of the second steam dome . In addition, the boiler was higher.
The locomotives, which were more than 50 years old, were decommissioned by the Deutsche Reichsbahn before they were given a new series designation.
