history

The railcar was built in 1903 by the Esslingen machine works for the Royal Saxon State Railways. Similar vehicles were already at the Kgl. Wuerttemberg State Railways has been delivered as the DW series .

The vehicle did not prove itself due to insufficient steam generation. Its whereabouts are unknown.

A largely identical vehicle was delivered to the Uerikon-Bauma-Bahn UeBB in Switzerland in 1902 . This railcar was preserved and is now an operational museum vehicle of the SBB Historic .

technical features

The railcar had a once-through boiler of the Serpollet type , which was operated with a maximum steam pressure of 94 bar. The feed pump was driven directly by the steam engine, so that a precisely dosed amount of water was fed into the boiler .

A separate outer frame was used to store the engine , otherwise the vehicle was constructed according to normal passenger coaches . The railcar was braked with a throw lever brake.
