Sachin Dev Burman
Sachin Dev Burman (often just SD Burman ; Bengali : শচীন দেব বর্মণ Śacīn Dev Barmaṇ ; born October 1, 1906 in Kumilla , Bangladesh , † October 31, 1975 in Mumbai ) was an Indian composer of Hindi films .
Life
Burman was one of the most respected and successful composers for Hindi films. His compositions were mainly sung by personalities such as Lata Mangeshkar , Mohammed Rafi , Geeta Dutt , Manna Dey , Kishore Kumar , Hemant Kumar , Asha Bhosle , Shamshad Begum , Mukesh and Talat Mahmood . He began his musical career in Bengal as a singer of folk and classical music and also composed music for the radio.
