Saad sirop

Saad Sirop (born September 6, 1972 in Baghdad , Iraq ) is an Iraqi clergyman and apostolic visitor for the Chaldean Catholic Christians living in Europe .

Life

Saad Sirop studied philosophy at the Seminary of the Patriarchate of Babylon and Catholic theology at the Pontifical Urban University in Rome . Sirop received the sacrament of ordination for the eparchy of Saint Peter the Apostle of San Diego on October 13, 2001 . He graduated from the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome with a degree in philosophy.

From 2005 to 2006, Saad Sirop was pastor of St. Jacob's Parish in Baghdad and Director of Studies at Babel College and Vice Rector of the Faculty of Catholic Theology and Philosophy. In 2008 he was in philosophy doctorate . In 2009 Sirop became pastor of the Chaldean Cathedral of St. Joseph in Baghdad and professor of philosophy at Babel College .

The Synod of Bishops of Chaldean Catholic Bishops elected him auxiliary bishop in the Patriarchate of Babylon. Pope Francis approved his election as auxiliary bishop in the Patriarchate of Babylon on January 11, 2014 and appointed him titular bishop of Hirta . The Chaldean Catholic Patriarch of Babylon, Louis Raphaël I. Sako , donated him as well as Yousif Thomas Mirkis OP and Habib Al-Naufali the episcopal ordination on January 24th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Curia Bishop in the Patriarchate of Babylon, Shlemon Warduni , and the Latin Archbishop of Baghdad , Jean Benjamin Sleiman OCD .

On November 19, 2016, Pope Francis appointed him Apostolic Visitator for the Chaldean Christians living in Europe.
