Saharanpur ( Hindi : सहारनपुर , Urdu : سهارنپور; Sahāranpur [ sʌhɑːrʌnpʊr ]) is a city in the northern Indian state of Uttar Pradesh with around 700,000 inhabitants (2011 census).

The city lies in the Ganges plain 155 km north of Delhi . It is the administrative seat of the Saharanpur District . The national highway NH 73 connects Saharanpur with Yamunanagar and Roorkee .
