Saint-Hilaire-Petitville is a town and commune Déléguée in the French community Carentan-les-Marais with 1,357 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . The inhabitants are also called Saint-Hilairien (s) .
Toponymy
Petitville means "small town".
history
On January 1, 2019, Saint-Hilaire-Petitville was incorporated into the Commune nouvelle Carentan-les-Marais. It has been the Commune déléguée ever since. After Carentan, the parish was the most heavily populated parish of the Communauté de communes de la Baie du Cotentin .

Saint-Hilaire-Petitville is located on the Cotentin peninsula , in the Marais du Cotentin et du Bessin Regional Nature Park . Adjacent villages are:

Transport links

The Marais de la Taute regional nature reserve was designated as a protected area in 2011. It is 147 hectares and protects wetland along the Taute. The reserve includes Graignes , Montmartin-en-Graignes , Saint-André-de-Bohon and Saint-Hilaire-Petitville. A nature trail was laid out along the Canal de Vire et Taute .
