Location of the association of municipalities in the Normandy region

The Communauté de communes de la Baie du Cotentin is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté de communes in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . It was founded on January 1, 2014 and comprises 23 communities (as of January 1, 2019). The administrative headquarters are in the Commune nouvelle Carentan-les-Marais .

Historical development

The association of communes was created through the merger of the Communauté de communes de Carentan-en-Cotentin and the Communauté de communes de Sainte-Mère-Église . Then there are the municipalities of Houtteville (from the Communauté de communes de La Haye-du-Puits ) and Tribehou and Montmartin-en-Graignes (from the Communauté de communes de la Région de Daye )

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Brucheville , Catz , Montmartin-en-Graignes , Saint-Hilaire-Petitville and Vierville and the former Commune nouvelle Carentan-les-Marais became part of the Commune nouvelle Carentan-les-Marais of the same name , and the former communities of Carquebut and Ravenoville merged with the former Commune nouvelle Sainte-Mère-Église into the Commune nouvelle Sainte-Mère-Église of the same name . This reduced the number of member communities to 23.
