Location of the association of municipalities in the Normandy region

The Communauté d'agglomération Mont-Saint-Michel Normandy is a French association of municipalities with the legal form of a Communauté d'agglomération in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy . The community association was founded on October 3, 2016 and comprises 95 communities (as of January 1, 2019). The administrative headquarters are in the city of Avranches .

Historical development

The community association was created with effect from January 1, 2017 through the merger of the predecessor organizations

• Communauté de communes de Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët ,
• Communauté de communes de Saint-James ,
• Communauté de communes d'Avranches Mont-Saint-Michel ,
• Communauté de communes du Val de Sée and
• Communauté de communes du Mortainais .

With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Avranches and Saint-Martin-des-Champs became part of the Commune nouvelle Avranches and the former municipalities of Tirepied and La Gohannière became part of the Commune nouvelle Tirepied-sur-Sée . This reduced the number of member communities to 95.
