Genêts is a French municipality with 435 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Manche in the region of Normandy .

geography

Genêts is located directly on the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel . Here you have a good view of the bay with the bird island Tombelaine and the Mont-Saint-Michel. To the north of the village there is a wide sandy beach, from which guided mudflat walks past the bird island to Mont-Saint-Michel are possible.

Economy and Infrastructure

Gentle tourism can be found in Genêts . There are many private room rentals and a campsite between the town center and the sandy beach, as well as a youth hostel . The latter is located in the former station building and was renovated in 2002.
