The municipality belongs to the Arrondissement of Avranches and the canton of Saint-Hilaire-du-Harcouët (until 2015: Canton of Saint-James ). The inhabitants are called Saint-Aubinais .

Saint-Aubin-de-Terregatte is located about 12 kilometers south-southeast of the city center of Avranches on the Bevron , which flows into the Sélune , which borders the municipality in the north. Saint-Aubin-de-Terregatte is surrounded by the neighboring municipalities of Poilley in the north and north-west, Ducey-Les Chéris in the north and north-east, Saint-Laurent-de-Terregatte in the east, Saint-Georges-de-Reintembault in the south-east, Montjoie-Saint -Martin to the south, Saint-Senier-de-Beuvron to the west and southwest, and Juilley to the west and northwest.
