Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche is a village and a former French commune with 1,253 inhabitants (as of January 1 2017) in the department of Charente-Maritime in the region Nouvelle-Aquitaine (before 2016: Poitou-Charentes ). It belonged to the arrondissement of Saint-Jean-d'Angély and the canton of Chaniers (until 2015: canton of Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche ).
With effect from January 1, 2019, the former municipalities of Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche and La Frédière were merged to form the Commune nouvelle Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche of the same name and have the status of a Commune déléguée in the new municipality . The administrative headquarters are in Saint-Hilaire-de-Villefranche.
