Sam Reid (born February 19, 1987 in New South Wales ) is an Australian actor . He is best known for his appearances in Anonymus , Dido Elizabeth Belle and The Love of His Life - The Railway Man .

Life

Reid was born the son of a farmer in New South Wales, Australia. His older brother Rupert is also an actor. He attended the private boys school Cranbrook School in Sydney . Shortly after finishing school, he lived for a short time in New York City and shortly afterwards moved to London to pursue his training as an actor. In 2010 he graduated from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art , where he was also recognized as a so-called “star student”.

Reid currently lives in London.

Career

During his final semester at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, he was cast in the film Anonymus . Without getting the script, he was spontaneously cast the next day for the role of Earl of Essex .

After Sam Claflin left production, he was replaced with Reid in the drama Dido Elizabeth Belle in 2012 .
