Sami Güçlü

Sami Güçlü (born September 6, 1950 in Kuyulusebil County, Konya Province ) is a Turkish economist, university professor, politician and former Minister of Agriculture and Village Affairs.

Life

He graduated from the Faculty of Economics at the University of İstanbul , where Güçlü also wrote his doctoral thesis. Sami Güçlü began his academic career at the State Academy of Engineering and Architecture in Sakarya . In 1989 he became a lecturer and in 1995 professor for economic policy. Güçlü taught as a visiting professor at the University of Leicester in England . Then worked as State Secretary in the Prime Minister's Office. Güçlü was a professor, deputy dean, member of the Senate and major area president at the Faculty of Engineering at Istanbul Technical University in Sakarya and at the Faculty of Economics at Sakarya University .

Sami Güçlü is a founding member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AKP). Güçlü was a MP for Konya Province in the 22nd legislative period of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey . In the 58th government ( Gül cabinet ) he was Minister for Agriculture and Village Affairs.

Güçlü is married and has four children.
