Mehmet Aydın

Mehmet Aydın (born March 20, 1943 in the village of Göl, Elazığ province ) is a Turkish philosopher, politician and minister of state.

Life

He graduated from the Faculty of Theology at Ankara University . Aydın wrote his PhD ( philosophy ) at the University of Edinburgh , one of the largest and most prestigious universities in the UK . He then worked at various universities as a member of the faculty. Aydın became a lecturer in 1978 and professor in 1984. He later worked as a lecturer and dean at the Theological Faculty of the 9th September University in İzmir . So far, Aydın has published 10 books.

Mehmet Aydın was a member of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AKP) for the province of İzmir in the 22nd legislative period ( October 14, 2002 to July 22, 2007 ) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey . He was also Minister of State in the 58th ( Gül Cabinet ) and 59th ( 1st Erdoğan Cabinet ) government of the Republic of Turkey. Aydın has been a member of the 2nd Erdoğan Cabinet of the AKP government under Erdoğan since August 29, 2007 , where he is Minister of State for Information Technology and the Alliance of Civilizations .

Mehmet Aydın is responsible for knowledge and technology activities, he manages:

• the Ataturk High Institute for Culture, Language and History
• the Academy of Sciences of Turkey ( TÜBA )
• the General Directorate for Press, Publication and Information ( BYEGM )

Aydın is responsible for relations with:

• the Scientific and Technical Research Council of Turkey ( TÜBİTAK )
• the General Directorate of Turkish Radio and Television Broadcasting Corporation ( TRT )
• the General Directorate of the Anadolu News Agency ( TAŞ. )
• the Council for Radio and Television ( RTÜK )

Mehmet Aydın is fluent in French, Arabic and English. He is married and has two children.
