Taner Yıldız (born April 3, 1962 in Devecipınar , Boğazlıyan ) is a Turkish politician of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi .

Life

The Yıldız family originally came from Kayseri. Because of his father's job, Yıldız lived in Yozgat Province for the first ten years. He attended high school in Kayseri. Yıldız studied electrical engineering at İstanbul Teknik Üniversitesi . In 2002 he was elected to the Turkish parliament for the first time. Yıldız worked as an energy advisor to Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan . On May 1, 2009, Yıldız became Turkey's Minister of Energy. As such, he was a member of the following cabinets:

In the Davutoğlu II cabinet (August 28 to November 24, 2015) Ali Rıza Alaboyun became Minister of Energy, and in the Davutoğlu III cabinet Berat Albayrak .

Yıldız is married and has four children.
