Hayati Yazıcı

Hayati Yazıcı (born May 23, 1952 in Çayeli , Rize Province ) is a Turkish lawyer and politician .

Yazıcı graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law in 1975 . He worked on seminars on government law. In 1976 he joined the Istanbul authorities as a trainee judge. He was a judge in Çayeli, Mihallıççık and Kargı. In 1984 he resigned from the government and started working as a freelance lawyer in Istanbul. Yazıcı was active in various associations and political parties as a member and leader. Hayati Yazıcı is a founding member of Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi (AKP). He worked as a lawyer and legal advisor to the party chairman. Yazıcı was a member of the 22nd legislative period (October 14, 2002 to July 22, 2007) of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey .

Hayati Yazıcı has been a member of the Second Erdoğan Cabinet since August 29, 2007 , in which he was Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State until May 1, 2009, responsible for foundations (General Directorate for Foundations) and the public broadcasting company TRT and from May 1 2009 for Customs (State Secretariat for Customs), the Istanbul 2010 project as European Capital of Culture and Social Security (General Directorate for Social Aid and Solidarity).

Yazıcı was the lawyer for 4 defendants in the 1993 arson attack in Sivas , in which 33 people - including 2 children and 2 young people - mostly Alevi and 2 hotel employees were killed.

Yazıcı is married and has two children.
