Ömer Dinçer (born September 10, 1956 in Karaman ) is a Turkish politician of the Adalet ve Kalkınma Partisi .

Life

Dinçer attended elementary, middle school and high school in Karaman. Dinçer studied business administration and political science at the Ataturk University in Erzurum from 1974 to 1978 . He obtained his Masters and PhD from Istanbul University . He received the academic degree Doçent from Marmara University in 1988 and completed his habilitation in 1994.

In 2007 he won a mandate for the AKP from the Turkish Grand National Assembly for the Istanbul constituency. From May 1, 2009 to July 6, 2011, he succeeded Faruk Çelik as Minister of Labor and Social Security. Dinçer was the successor to Nimet Çubukçu from July 6, 2011 to January 24, 2013 Minister of Education of Turkey. He was followed by Nabi Avcı as Minister of Education .

Dinçer is married and has three children.
