history
The integrated community was formed on July 1, 1965 from the former communities Everode, Meimerhausen , Freden (Leine), Winzenburg, Eyershausen , Ohlenrode and Wetteborn . As a result of the municipal reform in Lower Saxony, the number of member municipalities was reduced on March 1, 1974. Meimerhausen was incorporated into Freden (Leine) and the communities Eyershausen, Ohlenrode and Wetteborn merged to form the community Landwehr.
After lengthy discussions, a merger of the integrated community with the city of Alfeld (Leine) was initially set in 2014 in the form of the incorporation of the member communities. Ultimately, however, a merger of the member communities to form a single community Freden (Leine) was decided on November 1, 2016, whereby the joint community was dissolved at the same time.
