Ohlenrode is a district of the municipality of Freden (Leine) in the district of Hildesheim in Lower Saxony . He is a member of the Leinebergland region , a voluntary association of various cities and municipalities in southern Lower Saxony founded according to the Leader approach .
Incorporations
On March 1, 1974, the formerly independent municipality of Ohlenrode was incorporated into the new municipality of Landwehr. This in turn was incorporated into Freden (Leine) on November 1, 2016, the integrated community of Freden (Leine) was dissolved.

coat of arms
The municipality was awarded the municipal coat of arms on August 3, 1938 by the President of the Province of Hanover . It was presented by the district administrator from Alfeld on November 1st of the same year.

Foundation of the coat of arms: Ohlenrode, together with the two neighboring villages of Eyershausen and Wetteborn, forms the Landwehr of the former Winzenburg office . This designation is still in common use in the Alfeld district and is marked by a palisade in the coats of arms of all three communities. Each village has a medieval weapon as a characteristic. A halberd was placed in the coat of arms for Ohlenrode. |
