Samuel Halscheidt (born November 8, 1978 in Essen ) is a German jazz and pop guitarist.

Life

Halscheidt began playing the guitar at the age of six. He studied jazz guitar from 2000 to 2002 at the Carl Maria von Weber Academy of Music in Dresden and from 2002 to 2007 at the Berlin University of the Arts . In the latter he enjoyed lessons a. a. with Frank Möbus , Werner Neumann , David Friedman , Jerry Granelli and John Hollenbeck . During his studies at the University of the Arts he formed his SH! Together with Ketan Bhatti and Benjamin Hiesinger . Trio .

Halscheidt leads his rock band The Gecko and currently works as a guitarist with the artist Annamateur . He worked with numerous musicians from the fields of jazz, rock and pop a. a. with Tobias Backhaus, Pierre Borel in the trio Luc Tonnerre and with Pierre Borel, Tobias Backhaus, Andreas Waelti, Matthias Müller, Karl Ivar Refseth , Daniel Glatzel and Samuel Blaser in the sextet Transitroom, for whom he also composes, in the band of Meral Al -Mer and the producer Kraans de Lutin , the trombonists Johannes Lauer and Lucia Cadotsch , the cellist Stephan Braun and Christian Lillinger . Furthermore, Halscheidt worked as a guitarist and composer with the film production Phirefones u. a. for television productions such as Tatort and Ein Fall für Zwei as well as for various advertising music . He made the music for the short film documentary Sternstunden by Pola Beck . He collaborated with director Matthias Luthardt for its short film documentation people need hobbies , as well as Matthias Matschke for the radio play dark blue Ford Escort age of Dirk Laucke . Since 2013 he has worked regularly with Pigor & Eichhorn together and since 2014 bass in Dance Ensemble of Meg Stuart for their stage play 'Until Our Hearts Stop'. Halscheidt lives in Berlin .
