After the end of the Second World War and the withdrawal of the US Air Force , the Italian Air Force took it over again as a reserve airfield. The runway was renewed in 1967 and then used sporadically for about 30 years. The airfield is still a military area, but the remaining taxiways and parking areas from the Second World War are largely outside of today's airfield grounds.
