Sandra Záhlavová (born October 10, 1985 in Plzeň , then ČSSR ) is a former Czech tennis player .

Career

Záhlavová won twelve individual tournaments on the ITF Women's Circuit . She celebrated her greatest successes on the WTA Tour in 2010 when she reached the quarter-finals of the three international tournaments in Bogotá (two-set defeat against top seed Gisela Dulko ), 's-Hertogenbosch (two-set defeat against Andrea Petković ) and Bad Gastein (two-set defeat against Timea Bacsinszky ).

Her best result in a Grand Slam tournament she achieved in 2010 when she reached the second round of the Australian Open , in which she was defeated by Marion Bartoli . In 2011 she was there again in round two.

In doubles, Záhlavová was able to book nine ITF titles. As of November 2012, she no longer competed in doubles. A year later she made her last appearance on the women's tour at an ITF tournament in Poland.

Sandra Záhlavová is the cousin of the Czech tennis player Jakub Záhlavá .
