Sawthis is a thrash metal band from Teramo , Italy .

history

The band was founded in 1997 under the name Sothis . In 2001 a demo called The Seven Lies was released under the name Sawthis . In 2002 the second demo Instinct followed. This was followed by various appearances with bands like Lacuna Coil , Entombed , Impaled Nazarene , Shaman , Konkhra , Eldritch , Centvtion , Theaters des Vampires and Undertakers . While the first two demos were re-released in 2003, the band signed a contract with Temple of Noise Records . In April 2006 the debut album Fusion was released across Europe . The release was followed by appearances with Destruction , Anathema , Vader , Sybreed , Impaled Nazarene, Extrema , Sadist , Necrodeath and Assassin . In 2007 the first video for the song Beyond the Bound was released . The video was made by the movie A Clockwork Orange . In 2008 work began on the second album, which was produced in 2009 under the direction of Paolo Ojetti . After the band signed a contract with Scarlet Records , the album Egod was released in June 2010. After the release, a tour of Eastern Europe followed, with the group acting as the inaugural band for Vader. After the tour, other appearances followed, including with The Haunted , Primal Fear , Bulldozer , Cattle Decapitation and God Dethroned .

style

The band plays a modern, melodic form of Thrash Metal, whereby the partial use of oriental sounds is characteristic. The music can be compared with the works of Soulfly .
