Desecration ( Fasandræberne , literally: pheasant murderer) is a Danish thriller by director Mikkel Nørgaard from 2014 based on the novel Desecration by Jussi Adler-Olsen .
action
Vice-detective Carl Mørck and his assistant Hafez el-Assad - "the drunkard and the Arab" - get a new colleague: the motivated Rose Knudsen. Together they form the "Special Department Q" and roll up old murder cases. Former detective inspector Henning P. Jørgensen accuses Mørck of not investigating the murder of his daughter and son, and dies the next day by suicide. Jørgensen's children had been murdered twenty years ago.
Mørck is shaken by this suicide and is now concentrating on this case. The young Bjarne Thøgersen had assumed sole guilt after the double murder and was sentenced to several years in prison. The socially rather underprivileged had been defended by one of the best defense lawyers. Mørck and Assad wonder how Thøgersen could afford the expensive lawyer. During their investigation, they come across the name of the witness Kimmie, who had notified the police after the double murder. At the time, Kimmie was a student at the elite boarding school in Griffenholm, and Mørck soon came across a network of a group of students at the boarding school, which is now anchored in leading positions in politics and business. This network around Ditlev Pram tries on the one hand to hinder the investigation and hires a killer on Kimmie, who went into hiding after the murder and now lives as a homeless person on the streets of Copenhagen .
Kimmie was Pram's mistress at the time and was guilty of taking part in the gang's sadistic games for a long time. After her betrayal, Kimmie, who was pregnant by Pram, was brutally mistreated by her friends and subsequently lost her child. As the investigators get closer to the network, they too are said to be murdered. A showdown takes place in a hunting lodge in Pram: Kimmie, who escaped from custody, murders Pram and then kills herself.
criticism
The criticism in the FAZ was not positive: Olsen had constructed a crime thriller that was as sophisticated as a memory game. When drawing characters, he works with "decals".
