Schönfelde is a district of the Steinhöfel community in the Oder-Spree district in the state of Brandenburg .
Geographical location
The district is located northwest of the community center and borders in the north on the district of Müncheberg . To the northwest is the district of Eggersdorf with the Eggersdorf airfield . This is followed in a clockwise direction by the Steinhöfeler districts of Gölsdorf , Beerfelde and Jänickendorf . The majority of the district is used for agriculture. The northwestern part is forested, including the Mittelheide in the west and the Vorderheide in the east.
history
Schönfelde was first mentioned in a document from April 12, 1288. Erich von Brandenburg , at that time Archbishop of Magdeburg , entrusted the place with three other villages to the knight Reinhard von Strehle . The village church was also built during this time. The street tanger village was on the trade route from Berlin to Frankfurt (Oder) . In the 18th century the parish had the church " baroque " redesigned. From 1864 it is known that there were two windmills, a pitcher , 35 residential buildings and four commercial buildings in the village . With effect from December 29, 1929 a volunteer fire brigade was founded . On December 31, 2001 it was incorporated into Steinhöfel.
Sights and culture
- The Schönfelde village church was built in the late 13th century and was remodeled in baroque style in the 18th century. Inside there is a pulpit altar from the beginning of the 18th century, into which a pulpit from 1619 was integrated.
- Regular events take place in the village, including football tournaments, autumn dances, senior afternoons and Christmas parties, village festivals and church concerts.

In 2018, a boat saddlery and 12 small businesses are active in the village. A driving school for tanks offers the opportunity to drive a T-55 , a BMP-1 , a Leopard 1 or a Gepard anti-aircraft gun through a cordoned-off area.
traffic
The federal road 168 runs in north-south direction through the place and connects it to Müncheberg and Fürstenwalde / Spree . Both places are connected by public transport via bus line 432 of the Oder-Spree bus service. There is a commercial airfield in Eggersdorf .
