history

Archaeologists found both remains of a settlement from the Stone Age and from the Bronze Age during excavations in the district . Another settlement is by around 3.5  ha large Slavic fortress detected, the search is on since 1878 to found objects. The village is one of the villages founded in the 13th century according to a uniform plan and at that time comprised 61 hooves , including one parish hoof and two church hooves. The first documentary mention dates back to 1405. In 1424 Otto von Lossow sold Arensdorf ( Arndsdorff ) to the Carthusian monastery in Frankfurt (Oder) .

During the Reformation , the village came into the possession of the University of Frankfurt (Oder) , where it remained until 1811. After the dissolution of the Frankfurt University - it was merged with the Leopoldina in Breslau to form the Silesian Friedrich Wilhelms University - the village and fiefdom were assigned to the Royal Rent Office in Fürstenwalde . The fiefdom was sold several times in the following years. In 1904 the manor owner von Alvensleben in Falkenberg near Fürstenwalde acquired the Arensdorf estate from the Wurl family, and in 1905 also the adjacent Paulshof. With a total of 359 ha, the von Alvensleben family owned about 20% of the Arensdorf district. In the summer of 1945 the family and six other large farms were expropriated without compensation. After the fall of the Wall , Reimar von Alvensleben and his son Albrecht acquired land in order to set up an agricultural and forestry business again.

The village had its own pastoral office until the Second World War . After 1945 the parish in Arensdorf was no longer occupied. The former rectory in Arensdorf was de-dedicated. Since then there has been a rented apartment (sexton's apartment) and some community rooms in the rooms. The parish was administered by the Wilmersdorf parish until 2004, by the Falkenhagen parish until 2014 , and then by the Jacobsdorf parish .

Arensdorf village church

The church dates from the second half of the 13th century . The layout of the nave, the choir and the wide church tower date from this time . The original pointed arch windows are visible on the east side, the middle of which is walled up. The remaining windows were considerably enlarged in later times. The sacristy on the south side was added in the 19th century. The pulpit , the altar , the baptism, the stalls and the gallery also date from the 19th century. The organ case dates from the baroque period (around 1700). The organ was destroyed in the years after the Second World War. The top half of the tower was renewed after the Thirty Years War . The sound arcades were added in the 19th century. The octagonal roof turret on the tower was probably applied in 1723, as the year on the weather vane indicated. It was originally covered with oak shingles. In the 19th century it was covered with slate. Like the church roof, it was renovated in 1999. The glass and light installation Gläserne Töne by an Australian artist has been located in the tower room since 2004 .
