The Schenkenberg is a 480 meter high, densely forested mountain in the district of the core town of Lindenfels in the Bergstrasse district in the Hessian Vorderen Odenwald . On the summit plateau, which extends over more than a hectare, there is a trigonometric measuring point, which is indicated in the official maps with an altitude of 479.6  m above sea level. NHN is marked. However, the same maps show that to the north of it the contour line of 480 meters is exceeded in two places.

The Schenkenberg is at the end of the mountain range, which extends from the Neunkircher Höhe ( 605  m ), the highest mountain in the Vorderen Odenwald, just under four kilometers away , to the south over the Raupenstein ( 545.3  m ), Das Buch ( 535.3  m ) and the Litzelröder Höhe ( 452  m ) with the Bismarckwarte extends up to here and then reaches the outskirts of Lindenfels . This mountain range separates the valleys of Gersprenz in the east and Lauter in the west.

Along the west, south and east flanks, federal road 47, known as Nibelungenstrasse, curves around Schenkenberg with the Lindenfels through-town on the way from Bergstrasse in the west to Gersprenztal in the east.

The closest localities are the core town Lindenfels in the south, the settlement Litzelröder in the northwest and Winterkasten in the north.
