The Droga krajowa 24 (short DK24 , pol. For, national road 24 'and, national road 24') is a country road in Poland . It branches south of Gorzow Wielkopolski from the national road 22 and leads east across Skwierzyna and Międzychód to Pniewy , where the main road 92 hits. The road crosses two voivodships over a total length of 76.6 km. Together with the S3 expressway and the 92 national road, the road forms a connection between Gorzów Wielkopolski and Poznań . The towns are also connected to Kostrzyn nad Odrą via national road 22 .

history

The current course of the state road in the part east of Skwierzyna that came to Poland after the First World War was declared a state road by the Polish Road Act of December 10, 1920. In contrast, the western section was part of the German Reichsstrasse 114 until 1945 ; this name was extended to the annexed part of Poland ( Warthegau ) after the occupation of Poland in 1939 and also included the further route via Poznań towards Warsaw .

The section from Rudnica to Skwierzyna was part of State Road 17. The section between Skwierzyna and Pniewy was designated as State Road T8. After the reorganization of the road network in 1985, the section between Skwierzyna and Pniewy became national road 24. With the reform of the numbering on May 9, 2001, the section from Skwierzyna to the intersection at Rudnica was added.

On May 15, 2014, the Skwierzyna bypass was opened together with the section of the S3 between the Gorzów Wlkp.-Południe and Międzyrzecz -Północ nodes. This approximately 4 km long section connects the Skwierzyna-Południe junction with the previous road east of the city.
