Map with all coordinates: The Droga krajowa 21 (short DK21 , pol. For, national road 21 'respectively, national road 21') is a country road in Poland . It leads from the port of Ustka in a southerly direction via Słupsk to Miastko and creates a connection between the S6 expressway and the national road 20 . Its total length is 76.5 km.
history
Until 1945 the entire current course of the road followed Reichsstraße 125 . After the reorganization of the road network in 1985, the course of the road was part of state road 21, which continued from Miastko to Szczecinek . In 1998 the section between Ustka and Słupsk fell away. With the reform of the numbering on May 9, 2001, the route to Miastko was shortened. The section between Miastko and Szczecinek became part of National Road 20 .
On September 4, 2008, the members of the 25th session of the regional assembly of the Pomeranian Voivodeship decided to upgrade the section between Ustka and Słupsk from part of voivodship road 210 to part of the national road. This enabled a faster modernization of this road from the state budget, which, among other things, the then Prime Minister Donald Tusk had promised the population as compensation for the construction of a missile shield in Redzikowo . The upgrade was implemented on December 2, 2008 in an ordinance of the GDDKiA .
Modernizations
In 2009, the modernization of the road began on five sections. On the Chociwel - Dzwonowo section, in addition to the renewal of the road surface, the intersection with Voivodship Road 142 was also rebuilt. At the beginning of September 2009, the construction of a new bridge over railway tracks in Ustka, worth 3.05 million złoty, began.
In 2014, the 7 km long section between Miastko and Dretyń was modernized. The road was completely renewed. The remaining 4 km long section to Dretyń is to be modernized if funding is available.
In April 2014, construction of national road 21 along a new route in Słupsk began. The investment is intended to relieve the city center and was divided into three stages: The first stage comprises the construction of a new section with a length of 1.84 km, two roundabouts and a bridge over railway tracks. In the second stage, a 3.4 km long section with 6 roundabouts is to be created. A 1.5 km long section is to be realized in a third stage together with four roundabouts of a bridge over railroad tracks. The total cost is 189 million zloty, of which 161 million zloty is provided by the European Regional Development Fund. On April 25, 2014, the contract for the realization of all three stages between the construction company Budimex SA and the city with an order value of 109 million zlotys was signed. It was completed within 20 months by the end of 2015.
