The National Road 91 (short DK91 , pol. For, national road 91 'or' national road 91 ') is a country road in Poland . It currently runs on two sections from Danzig to Częstochowa and represents an alternative route to the north-south A1 motorway in Polish road traffic . The total length is 450 kilometers. The first section from Danzig to Łódź is 345 kilometers long, the second from Tuszyn to Częstochowa 105 kilometers. Between the ocean border crossing at the Port of Danzig (pol .: Gdańsk-Port ) and the Rusocin junction near Pruszcz Gdański , the state road is part of the European route 75 , between the ocean border crossing and the Gdańsk-Lipce junction part of the European route 77 .

history

With the reform of the numbering of all state roads on May 9, 2001, the routes running parallel to the toll highways were assigned the numbers 91 to 99. The section between Tuszyn via Piotrków Trybunalski to Częstochowa was the first to be designated as State Road 91, as it represents an alternative route to the parallel section of the A1 / State Road 1 motorway . As part of the so-called Gierkówka at the time of the People's Republic of Poland , a new line was built between Piotrków Trybunalski and Częstochowa to create a faster connection between Warsaw and Katowice . The old route is now part of the national road 91.

With the completion of the sections of the A1 motorway running parallel to Landesstraße 1, the route from Landesstraße 1 was rededicated to Landesstraße 91. This already happened completely between Gdansk and Toruń in 2011, between Kowal and the Łódź-Północ junction in 2012 and between Toruń and Kowal in 2014.

Truck toll

On July 1, 2012, the truck toll was introduced on the sections between the Rusocin and Nowe Marzy junctions and between Świecie- Ulica Bydgoska and Toruń. The reason for this was that after the introduction of the electronic truck toll on July 1, 2011, truck traffic on the then free state road increased by around 70%. The introduction of the toll should now ensure that some of the truck traffic is shifted back to the toll-based, parallel A1 motorway.

Sections in the modernization

Independent city of Włocławek

Within the city limits of Włocławek , an 11.5-kilometer section of state road 91 is being modernized. The objectives of this project are to improve the flow of traffic, to shorten the travel time in transit and on the connection between the major cities of the country (Tricity - Toruń - Włocławek - Łódź - Katowice), to improve traffic safety and the navigability of the city with the State road.

The investment was divided into three stages:

The first stage comprises a two-kilometer section from the intersection with Lunewil Street to Powstanie Styczniowe Square. In addition to the complete renewal of the carriageway, the sewer system was laid, sidewalks and cycle paths were built and new traffic lights were installed. The work began with the signing of the contract between the city and the consortium consisting of Aprivia SA , Hydrobudowa Polska SA , Przedsiębiorstwo Robót Inżynieryjno-Drogowych SA and Husar Budownictwo Inżynieryjne Sp. Z oo on January 26, 2010. The cost was over 40 million złoty.
The second stage includes the renewal of the carriageway on a nine-kilometer section of the state road from the city limits to the intersection with Lunewil-Straße. The contract was signed on November 17, 2010 with a consortium consisting of the construction companies PBG SA , Hydrobudowa Polska SA , Aprivia SA , Husar Budownictwo Inżynieryjne Sp. Z oo , SRB Civil Engineering Ltd. , John Sisk & Son Ltd. and roadbridge . Work started on March 10, 2011. The construction costs were set at 110 million zlotys. The completion was planned for November 2013. However, there were construction delays. Now the stage should be completed by August 2014 ^[obsolete] .
In the third stage, a 500-meter-long section between the intersection of Landesstrasse and Landesstrasse 62 and a viaduct over a track south of the intersection was modernized. Both the crossing and the viaduct have been renewed. The construction work began after the signing of the contract with the construction companies Gotowski Budownictwo Komunikacyjne i Przemysłowe , Drogi i Mosty and Mosty Kujawy on October 25, 2011 in December 2011. Completion took place on November 7, 2012. The construction costs amounted to 10.2 million zlotys.
